The first edition of the Swiss Pinball Expo was a resounding success. A total of 472 visitors flocked to the Lee-Saal in Schönbühl (BE) on Sunday to enjoy a day dedicated to pinball.
The event, organized by the Shoot Again Fribourg pinball club and Schwab Spielautomaten AG in collaboration with partners from the industry like the pinball maker Stern Pinball, brought together collectors, players, dealers, and curious visitors from all over Switzerland and neighboring countries. The aim of the fair was to create a meeting place for the growing Swiss pinball community and to showcase the fascination of this unique game.
More than 50 pinball machines were available for guests to play – from classic electromechanical devices to modern machines. These included several rare and sought-after models that are rarely available to play in public. Many of the machines were provided by private collectors and could be played free of charge throughout the day.
Another highlight were the three tournaments that took place during the expo and attracted numerous participants. They ensured exciting competitions and a lively atmosphere between sporting ambition and a shared passion for pinball. Awesome prizes were handed out thanks to Stern Pinball’ and Spooky's partnership.
The feedback from visitors was also extremely positive. Many praised the large selection of machines, the friendly atmosphere, and the opportunity to meet like-minded people and exchange ideas about technology, restoration, and collecting.
In addition to the gaming opportunities, the Swiss Pinball Expo also offered machines for sale, spare parts, mods, and accessories for collectors and enthusiasts. This made the event not only a gaming paradise, but also an important meeting place for the scene.
After this successful premiere, the organizers are optimistic about the future. The Swiss Pinball Expo will establish itself as a national meeting place for the pinball community in Switzerland in the long term and continue to grow in the coming years
